Welcome to Interstate Schutzhund!
Interstate Schutzhund Club is a full member club of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. Like the phoenix, the club "rose from the ashes" in the early 1990's when the few remaining members of the Green Mountain Club in Vermont joined with a small group of people training as an independent club named Twin Rivers in Troy, New York. Troy became the club training site, and members traveled from Vermont, Massachusetts, and other areas of New York State to get there. Considering this merging of several training groups, the club's name was changed from Green Mountain to Interstate Schutzhund Club.
Some of our members bring with them more than twenty years experience in training, while others are working with their first schutzhund dog. We are all equal in our desire to learn and progress in all three phases of the sport. Our agitator is a certified regional level trial helper. We strive to bring in other trainers for educational seminars that are open to guests and their dogs. The club is dedicated to promoting training that establishes clear communication between the handler and dog.
Our home fields are in Troy and Albany. We meet twice a week on Wednesdays nights and Sunday. In the winter we are fortunate to have an indoor training facility. Guests are welcome to visit and see our training styles. For more information, contact one of our members!
Visitors:
A person is a “visitor” when they initially come to club – the purpose of an initial “visit” include: observing members training their dogs, learning about schutzhund and the club, meeting club members, having their dog evaluated, and determining if they are interested the sport. A person's initial visit to the club is at no charge. A person may bring their dog for their initial visit to club, and their dog will (most likely) be evaluated at the end of training - following obedience and protection.
· Guests:

Currently, the guest training fee is $20.00 per training day. The fee will be collected on each day a guest trains, it is to be paid in cash (exact amount, please) or check (payable to: Interstate Schutzhund Club).

Anyone Interested in visiting and/or training with the Interstate Schutzhund Club should get in-touch with one of the Club's contact persons - so we can learn a-little about you and your dog(s); and so we can share additional information (e.g., training days and locations) with you.
